The quotation that is important is, "The squeaky wheel gets the grease." This means that the loud, demanding people get what they want. The loud student gets the attention of the teacher; the loud adult gets the attention of the community.

While I believe this saying is true, I think that this is unfortunate. The quiet and humble people should get the help. Over the last 20 years, I have had too many students who were loud and received help. When in reality, they should have been thrown on the street. In my own family, my brothers, especially my oldest brother used to answer for me. As I grew older, and became a teacher, now I am the one who answers for everyone else. That's revenge, but that is another saying and another digression for another blog.
